Oakland Unified School District – Claremont Middle School, Multi-Purpose Building

OAKLAND, CA

This new, Design-Bid-Build, multi-purpose building includes construction of a single-story 9,544 SF multi-purpose building, campus-wide replacement of the Intrusion Alarm System, and accessibility restrooms. Funded by Measures B, J, and Y, this $21M project also replaces partitions with full-height permanent walls in six classrooms – approximately 16,000 SF total.

6D provides construction management services for the Claremont MS projects, carefully balancing the challenges of new construction on an operational campus. This project is also a prime example of how to effectively replace an existing building on an occupied campus – detailed logistics plans, staging areas, and close attention to safety are required. Project completion is slated for December of 2023.
