6D provided project and construction management services for the District’s $92M Thornton Middle School Conversion Project. The conversion is part of the larger $650M Measure E Bond Modernization Program. This project consisted of demolition, construction of new buildings, and modernization of the remainder of the 123,000 SF campus utilizing the Lease Leaseback delivery method. The school now has five new buildings including a library, classrooms, and labs. Modernizations included revamped ventilation systems, windows, and flooring. Thornton’s play areas got a refresh as well, with reconfigured track and softball fields, and new hardcourts.
Included in 6D’s project and construction management services were scheduling, estimating, constructability review, pre-qualification of bidders, coordination of technical inspection and testing, change order management and reporting, and pre-construction, construction, and closeout support.
